Michyla joined Govett Quilliam in June 2023 and is a senior lawyer in our Personal Planning Team. Before moving to Govett Quilliam, Michyla practiced family law in the region for several years. Michyla’s focus shifted to personal planning and asset protection after facing her own health journey. Michyla is passionate about providing understandable legal advice to help others and has a range of experience in asset protection, personal and estate planning, and Trust law.

With a background in litigation and family law, Michyla understands how important it is to have things in place. She prides herself on providing pragmatic and empathetic advice to guide others on their journey of personal and succession planning.

Michyla is busy raising her three children with her husband as a Taranaki born and bred local. Michyla is a coordinator of the Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis Support Group and a committee member of the Taranaki Ostomy Society. After facing her own journey with Crohn’s, Michyla knows first-hand how important it is to have our affairs in order for ourselves, and more importantly, our loved ones.
