Troy is a Partner at GQ specialising in employment law, litigation, and Te Tira Hau Ture (Māori legal services).
With extensive expertise in litigation, Troy handles commercial disputes, contentious insolvency matters, breach of contract, debt recovery, property law, and company law issues. He regularly advises on matters before the Māori Land Court and has particular experience supporting Māori organisations in employment and governance matters.
Troy leads GQ’s employment law team which assists clients with workplace issues, policy development, and disciplinary procedures. His experience includes working in the United Kingdom for a leading U.S. national commercial law firm, a top 100 UK firm, and a prominent New Zealand commercial firm based in Auckland, before bringing his expertise to Govett Quilliam in 2011.
Troy regularly provides pro bono legal services to charitable trusts and community organisations. Troy is currently a Trustee for both the Parihaka Papakāinga Trust and Big Brothers Big Sisters Taranaki and is affiliated to Te Ātiawa, Taranaki, Ngāti Tama and Ngāti Awa iwi.
