Catherine joined Govett Quilliam in 2013 and has been a Partner of the firm since 2022. She leads the Personal Planning Team, specialising in trusts, wills, estates and succession planning, and works from the Inglewood and New Plymouth offices.
With over 20 years of legal experience, Catherine has a strong focus on asset protection and planning for the future. She previously served as Legal Counsel for Westland Dairy Company, gaining valuable expertise in rural matters, and continues to support many farming clients. Catherine helps clients develop robust succession plans to safeguard family businesses and oversees GQ’s Trust Review Programme to ensure trusts are managed effectively under the Trusts Act 2019. She advises on all matters relating to estate and succession, offering clear and practical solutions in what can often be complex areas of law. Catherine also has experience in conveyancing and commercial matters.
Catherine acts for several non-profit organisations and charitable trusts in Taranaki. She is also involved with community groups on a personal level, including being on the Sacred Heart Girls College School Board.
As a mother of four, Catherine is kept busy with an active family life. She loves a good book or podcast, the occasional adventure race and spending time with friends and family.
